Thankful Thursday- May 4, 2017

  • Nearby family. We are blessed to be able to live near 95% of our family. We get to spend Holidays together, visit one another for no real reason, and help housesit or babysit as needed. This past Sunday, Hubby's parents came over for dinner. We made carne asada, grilled shrimp, yellow rice, black beans, fresh corn on the cob, and salad. Not everyone is as fortunate as we are, so this will most definitely be becoming more of a routine for us.
  • Sharing neighbors. A neighbor asked via our neighborhood Facebook page whether or not anyone had any plants to share. I decided to piggy-back off of them and asked if anyone was in the process of dividing their perennials. Well, lo and behold, I was picking some up within hours! And she didn't charge me a penny. I love my 'hood!
  • New swing. We had been wanting one for a while. Hubby finally got around to ordering one and it came last week! I absolutely love it! It's the perfect spot for my morning cup of coffee and my weekend cocktail(s). Sometimes I'll just plop down on it and before I know it, hours will have passed. And of course, my boys love (swinging on) it too.
  • Caring teachers. And not just because it's Teacher Appreciation Week either! (Which by the way, if you are still looking for a gift idea, be sure to click HERE.) No. 1's teacher reached out to me about a missing homework assignment. Not all will take the time to do that-or give them the chance to make it up for that matter. I totally appreciated that. My boys have been blessed with some pretty awesome ones over the years!
  • ME day! I took today off. Not for a doctor's appointment or a field trip, but to simply relax. I like to call these "Mental Health Days". Everyone needs one every now and then... especially us mamas! I plan on getting a pedicure, hanging out in my garden, and taking a nap. That's it. Namaste!

What are you thankful for today?
