Thankful Thursday- May 11, 2017

With Mother's Day just a few days away, I'm going to use today's Thankful Thursday to reflect on how thankful I am for this journey called Motherhood.

  • I'm thankful for my mother; she taught me what it is to feel unconditionally loved. She loved me before I even knew myself and has never stopped. She taught me strength in her raising me as a single mother. She taught me perseverance by being a hard worker and providing all I ever needed despite being so young. She's dried my tears; both tears of joy and sorrow. She was my nurse, my first teacher, my counselor, my ATM, my best advocate, and my biggest cheerleader. And most importantly, she's the reason I strive to be the best mother that I can possibly be. Just like she was/is to me.
  • I'm thankful for my husband; because of him I am a mother. He's given me the best three gifts that I could have ever imagined. He is an amazing father to our boys. He has been there for every milestone and every roadblock. He loves our boys with every ounce of his heart; which in turn makes me love him with every ounce of mine.
  • I'm thankful for No. 1.; my first baby. The first one to ever call me "mommy". The first one to steal my heart. The one I had no clue what I was doing with when we brought him home from the hospital. Heck, there are still times that I have no clue what I'm doing! Yet, despite it all, he still loves me.
  • I'm thankful for No. 2; my middle baby. He's my laid-back, happy go-lucky, free spirited child. He makes parenting a breeze (most days!). He is totally the cream to my Oreos!
  • I'm thankful for No. 3; my baby boy. He has a smile that is contagious. Seeing his brother's grow so quickly, has definitely made me make more of an effort to cherish every single moment. I tend to (over) shower him with hugs and kisses and still call him my baby...even though he's eight years old. If he's not fighting it, I'm not stopping!

Happy Early Mother's Day, mamas!

What are you thankful for today?
