Thankful Thursday- April 20, 2017

  • My first harvest! Well, actually my first non-herb harvest. I've been using fresh cilantro, basil, mint, and parsley from my garden for the past several weeks now. They make everything taste better! I certainly didn't think we'd be eating home grown strawberries this soon though, but we are! They are ripening day by day. According to everything I've read online, you shouldn't keep ripe strawberries on the vine, so we're cutting them off, one by one. No. 3 was lucky enough to try the very first one, and boy was he excited!
  • Spring Break. Hubby and I were grateful to be able to take off the last three days of the boys' break! We enjoyed every moment. We spent a day being tourists in DC, a day at the ball park, went out for brunch, roasted marshmallows, and just hung out together. I love "staycations"!
  • Easter weekend. It was wonderful. We dyed eggs, attended two Easter egg hunts, spent time with both sides of our family, and had a delicious barbeque! (I had my first taste of beef aka a big fat cheeseburger in over 40 days!). The Easter Bunny also paid the boys a visit. She, I mean he, left them each chocolate bunnies, Peeps, and some pretty cool character socks! Anyone else's kids obsessed with socks?!
  • New flower bed! Hubby recently built one next to our patio. We already have one in the front yard, but I had been begging for one in the back as well. We filled it with a double knock out rose bush as well as with some emerald blue phlox. Both are exceptionally beautiful and exceptionally easy to care for! Our patio is slowly, but surely, turning into our very own little outdoor oasis.
  • Four day work week. It's hard coming back to the office after a five day weekend. My sleep schedule was disrupted from not only going to be late, but from waking up late as well. Luckily, I returned on a Tuesday instead of a Monday. Definitely made the transition a lot easier! Is it Friday yet?? Yawn...

What are you thankful for today?
