Thankful Thursday- March 30, 2017

  • Outdoor sports. Soccer and flag football have begun! I'm so excited. Excited to spend more time outdoors, excited to wear my favorite sunglasses, excited that flip flop season is quickly approaching, and super excited to get rid of my pale, wintery skin while cheering on my boys. Be sure to check back soon for new snack ideas and other Spring sports mama tips!
  • Patio garden. I've grown quite an interest in gardening over the last couple of years. It began with my love of pretty flowers and has quickly blossomed into my current obsession with growing (or at least trying!) to grow my own herbs and vegetables! Hubby bought me a self-watering patio container garden to feed my newest hobby. How awesome is he!? This past weekend alone I planted zucchini, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, kale, strawberries, basil, cilantro, parsley, and rosemary. Am I ambitious or what? If you have a green thumb, I'd love for you to share some of your best tips with me!
  • Health(ier) kids. My family was hit hard with the plague this week. It started with my little brother, then my grandmother, then my mama, then No. 2, and lastly (I hope!!!), No. 3. Fevers, sore throats, and coughing, oh my! No. 2 seems to be on the mend, and will be going back to school today after missing two days in a row. No. 3's fever finally broke at about 2am this morning, but he will need another day at home. One sick kid is definitely better than two! Btw, I'm binge drinking lemon tea as I write this post cause my throat is starting to feel a bit sore. *inserts eye rolling emoji*
  • Understanding jobs. Hubby and I have been alternating staying home with the boys since Tuesday. I am so grateful to work for a company that understands that kids get sick. And that when they do get sick, they need their parents. I am also super grateful to be able to work from home when they do. This allows me to not only keep up with my workload while I'm out of the office, but to be able to save my days as well!
  • Another long weekend. I'm going on a field trip with No. 3 tomorrow! I'm so excited. We're going to a local park to learn about plants and wildlife. We'll explore soil and journey through the water cycle. There's a wooded stream valley, ponds, a native plant garden, a greenhouse, and even a plant shop! Totally my kind of field trip. Please pray that Mother Nature is on our side, even though we will be going rain OR shine!!

What are you thankful for today?
